Yesterday when feeding the cats out back I noticed that Mr. Orange had a discharge from his right eye. He let me get up close to him and his eye did not look good but he's not a cat that I can grab and get into a cat carrier for vet care and Dr. Wallach works only by appointments. How do you make an appointment if you're not sure you can snag the cat and get him there?

The bride and I talked. She told me that there's a new animal hospital on Hempstead Turnpike in East Meadow and that we can probably get Mr. Orange in there on very short notice. The place is only a few blocks from my VA clinic.

I didn't see Mr. Orange this morning but got outside to see him between races at Aqueduct today. His eye wasn't leaking and he looked a lot better but I'm no doctor of veterinary medicine. Maybe his eye isn't infected. Maybe he caught something in his eye and now it's gone. I don't know. He's eating OK.

We'll watch him and I'll snag him some which way for vet care if things don't get better this weekend. Mr. Orange is here since the day he was born in 2016 and we're not going to let him be sick without being all in to help him.

I saw him Sunday morning when I brought out some breakfast platters and his eye had cleared up. He let me pet him and he's eating well. We're still watching him.
