Post subject:  Our friend Hopalong (Paul Cassidy) has passed
Sad news to report, Paul's son Kevin posted on Facebook this evening that Paul passed away this afternoon in Texas. Memorial service on March 17th in Plano.

I'm very fortunate to have known Paul over the years through the various iterations of the NY board, trips to Saratoga Race Course, and recently, through Facebook. He leaves behind a loving wife Marla, and several children and grandchildren whom he adored and would do anything for.

Hoppy was quite the guy, and will be missed by many here. handicapper, player, horse owner, and just a great all around guy.

RIP Hoppy. Enjoyed your company very much. A man with a wealth of knowledge indeed. We will have a drink in your honor at the Tree. I'll save you a seat and a eggplant sandwich. Farewell my friend. :cry:

I was so sad to hear of Paul's passing. He was a very gracious and caring friend to Woodman and I. I am proud to have known him.

He truly lived life well..
