Cats like ham but the American Domestic Short Hair breed is not known for hunting pigs. If you spend $400 at ShopRite in the fall you catch a free turkey or ham. Turkey does not thrill me after the first day and the wife was going to her brother's house for Thanksgiving. She brought home an enormous ham and cooked it up for last Saturday. There are only two of us here so there are many pounds of leftover ham, a beautiful ham by Cook's.
Well, there's ham 'n eggs, ham sandwiches and ham dinners. Western omelettes in the morning too with diced onion and green pepper. And piles of diced ham to be laid out for the outside cats. After the 9th at Aqueduct today I was laying out some platters of cat food when I noticed that the enormous stainless steel "Great Dane" feed bowl was already outside loaded up with ham. The wife did that. And I noticed some cats nearby licking their chops tails up with swollen bellies. Good shelter and great food serve a cat well at any time of the year but especially when the weather gets cold. And I love them all a little bit.
