Ginger is a daughter of Nasty Mom. Emily is gone now but she wouldn't nurse her kittens and next day Ginger had a litter with one dead - a pure white kitten that Mom Nature maybe needed to not survive. Ginger pushed the body aside. I found some barely-alive kittens from Emily behind a bush out back that were trying to nurse dirt. I cleaned them off, got the dirt of their mouths the best I could and figured they'd be dead in no time with no mother for milk on their first day of life. I laid the dying kittens into Ginger's belly and figured I'd collect more dead cats in the morning. Next morning Ginger was nursing six kittens and the near-dead deserted kittens were full of life, nursing well and clean as a whistle. Ginger was flattened and exhausted in a cat condo. When she finally came out she ate enough food to feed a lot of cats and slurped up a lot of milk. She nursed six kittens and all are still alive today out back at my house. Ginger - Helluva momcat. And she still won't let me pet her. |
