After the getaway at Aqueduct I prepared a dinner for the cats outside and I laid it out with a fresh bowl of warm water and a huge bowl of kibble. Their water ices up and I keep changing it. Cats like to drink warm water when the weather is cold. All the regulars were here for a great meal - Sad Face, Nasty Mom, Ginger, Mr. Orange, Garfield, Boso, Catty Patty and Tuxedo. While they were eating I reached under Sad Face's gut to check out his "belly bag". He's plump and his belly bag is sagging well, all loaded up with fat and calories that he can use to survive if he stops eating well. I may have stunk up my Pick wagers at Aqueduct today but I'm damn good at keeping cats fat and well fed during wintertime.

One day during warm weather the wind opened the screen door a bit and Sad Face walked into the kitchen while I was preparing a meal for the cats. The cat was hungry. He sat down and stared at me. Trouble walked into the kitchen and over to Sad Face, tail up. They sniffed heads and tapped noses. Trouble went back to his flop place and Sad Face went outside with me and some platters of food. Neutered toms are not ever looking for a bloody fight.
