I touched a little girl today but I should be in better shape with the law than R. Kelly. When I laid out Tuesday's cat dinner I got up close to Catty Patty while she was eating. She was a scrawny runt girl but stayed here with some siblings for the food and shelter after she was born. I was amazed that she got by the winter of '16 -'17 as a small cat but she got trapped and spayed in the spring of 2017. I like her a lot. Tonight I reached under her lower gut while she was eating and found a huge sagging belly bag loaded up with fat and calories. Catty Patty has come a long way from starting life as a tiny kitten with little chance to get by a winter. And a tip of the cat to Ginger - that gorgeous momcat nursed and raised six kittens and three of them were not her's.

Emily and Ginger gave birth some hours apart and Emily deserted her litter. Ginger had a dead kitten that she pushed aside and was working hard to care for her three survivors. I went out back and found two dead kittens, no Emily and three newborn cats trying to nurse dirt behind some bushes. They were filthy and sloppy wet. I figured the black kitten died while I was trying to keep him alive but after I cleared his mouth with my pinky he twitched and began flapping his tongue for nursing. I cleaned them off and figured they were not going to last the night. I gave them to Ginger and after I went back inside she gathered them into her belly and cleaned them off. She nursed them and cared for them like they were her own. I was amazed.

The black newborn kitten near death I almost buried grew up to be Tuxedo, a very sweet cat.
