We do most of our grocery shopping at ShopRite and like a lot of stores if you chalk up $400 in purchases in a "time frame" you can catch a "free" ham for Easter.

The bride is fixing up an enormous ham for us tomorrow and that means only two things:

#1- I have to go to Riesterer's the Jewish bakery in West Hempstead on Sunday morning for a huge loaf of rye bread.

#2 - There are only two of us her so in a few days the wife will be slicing and dicing a lot of leftover ham for the cats outside. They will have sagging bellies that day as they crawl away to the garage for a bed and sleep.

ade it through another winter unscathed!

Yeah, I was very happy about that. Cats can withstand very cold temperatures but they need three things if they are healthy - they need to stay dry in freezing weather with a place to get dry from a storm, they need shelter from the wind and most importantly they need lots of food to stoke the interior "feline furnace" to produce body heat. The outside cats here got all three every single day.
