I had a full-boat eye exam at the VA Hospital yesterday. My eyes are disease free and an "infantile" cataract is not a concern yet. I knew I needed a new prescription for my eyeglasses and I'm entitled to that for my Marine Corps service in some strange places.

The VA does some things extremely well and I am grateful for the medical care I receive there from my grateful nation at no cost to me but I was set up for an eye exam for new glasses on January 14th, 2020, the earliest date available. My new glasses will be ready for me in three or four weeks after that sometime in February. I could be dead and not seeing anything by then.

I'll keep that appointment for new glasses as a backup but in the interim I visited Pearle Vision Center this morning and after an exam by an optometrist I'll be getting new glasses from them in about a week. We're not broke and I'll be out $452 but at least I'll be seeing well now instead of next year. I'm not feeling well about some old wrecked veteran in need of glasses who has to wait so long for a benefit he or she has earned but government dependence rarely works well for those who receive or those who pay.

I picked up my new glasses this morning from Pearle Vision.

As I was driving down Hempstead Turnpike on my way home I saw a young lady walking on the sidewalk in very tight jeans. I was able to see her gorgeous ass a lot more clearly than I would have yesterday.
