I was rolling into the driveway from my muffin and cat food run this morning when I saw a cat come over a 6-foot fence and trot towards the car to greet me. It was Ginger, the momcat we had not seen in more than a week. Jeez, we were sweating her out and finally became resigned to maybe not seeing her ever again. She was hungry and was on the kibble since I had fed the cats earlier. Her son Garfield was on her tail straight up in joy to rub heads and shoulders. That's catspeak for "I'm happy to see you!"

I immediately went inside and came out with a huge feed dish loaded up with tuna, sardines and warm water for her. I am a very happy man that this wonderful girl cat is alive and well. She looks great.

Cats are strange Wherever could Ginger go for gourmet meals and all-season condo? I don' get it. What could be the attracton...

I'm thinking the street-wise Ginger has a large territory with many human friends in it. She's a gorgeous cat and gentle if she trusts you.
