The bride is the oldest of four. She has done well with her career and so has her two sisters and brother. I worked for more than 40 years, am a good Marine Corps veteran and never caught the shakes during the months I spent on the Bowery.

The two sisters are into a home and a condo in Florida to avoid the enormous New York taxes. The kid brother is going there too with his wife so that New York doesn't squeeze his balls for every dollar in his pocket.

Bradenton, Florida? You can't get there on a direct flight from JFK. That's why I was up at 3:40 this morning to get the bride to JFK - 6 a.m. flight to Charlotte and a hop to Bradenton.

In-laws and me? I love them all, especially since all of them will be far away from me for a long time.
