Dr. Francis is a young ophthalmologist at the VA Hospital. She has an OR for me in late August and a pre-op exam set up for me on Friday August 14th.

I have clearance from my cardio/thoracic surgeon to proceed with eye surgery to eliminate my cataracts. One eye at a time for the surgeries. I've already had half my left lung cut out. Scalpels in the eyes should be easy.

I may soon be able to go prone at 500 yards with an M-14 rifle and snap off rounds into a 36-inch bull like I could do as a teen Marine.

Getting old is a thrill upright and mobile but blurred vision is a horror.

Good luck with the eyeballs, of course you will lit us know how it goes. They tell me i'm a candidate for that soon too.
