I didn't see the old cat when I served meals to the outdoor cats yesterday or this morning. I was feeling poorly after recently losing Shiloh in the house and Mr. Orange outside to death.
But this evening after the nightcap at Belmont when I was laying out platters of cat food to go along with the tuna and sardines Sad Face sauntered up the driveway slowly. I was happy to see him. When I approached him he just sat down and closed his eyes. And while I rubbed up his old head, ears and shoulders he just sighed - one old guy humoring another old guy.
Sad Face ate well. Nasty Mom, Ginger, Tuxedo, Catty Patty, Garfield and Bosco were happy to see him. Down to seven cats outside as time marches on.
