Mets and racing at 1 p.m. World Cup soccer in very slow motion at 2 p.m. I have the satellite and cable circuits humming and the TVs all set up. The fridge is going full-bore to keep the beer cold and the spooker of Irish is sitting nearby. And the wife is visiting family in Ireland. This could be a fun day. |

An early goal has the U.S. down and the Mets are being whumped by the twins. And it's not even 3:30 yet. |

Pelfrey is the new ace of that staff, the Mets offense doesn't give Santana any runs when he pitches well either. |

The Americans have tied the game 1/1 after playing for 3 days it seems. |

Congrats to Ghana. Those fellows could play the game. The header passes I saw were fantastic. My fellow countrymen played their hearts out but, as usual, stank up the place early on before coming on to play a decent game. You can't go in the hole early and come back in a game with no action that lasts two days with nothing happening. I'll be back again in 4 years to comment on soccer again if I live that long. |
