I haven't been down there for a while. Yesterday, my son stopped in to see some old friends and I got a message from Ernie.

Ernie and I are both veterans of the 5th Marine Division except that Ernie's service with the "Spearhead Five" was on Iwo Jima three years before I was born.

Ernie's message via 1/8 Pole: "You tell your old man that he's a sad sack of $hit and a piss-poor excuse for a boot puke Marine. You tell him to get his sorry pansy ass down here so I can insult him face to face as a Johnny Come Lately fag bastard wannabe Marine who helped lose the &*%$ing war he was in."

Ernie and I are are good friends for more than 30 years but those WWIIers that are still around are a tough crew.
