Poor Midnight
...probably abandoned...not interested in territorial issues 
just "eats!"

Midnight turned up here a few weeks ago. The outside "alpha cat" is Garfield and he swats Nasty Mom when she becomes testy and that girl is his grandmother. Garfield has brawled the huge Orange Fluff to run him off the property. And White Leg too. White Leg showed up this morning to eat what the outside cats abandoned in their feed dishes once their bellies were full. He doesn't want to tangle with the "orange guys" - Garfield or his sidekick smaller brother Bosco. But Midnight? He crouches up against the side of my house when I bring out food. From a kitchen window I see him eat with the outside regulars once I'm in the house. They have accepted that large black cat to share meals. Cats work out their own "social structure" and it's amazing to see. It's important to understand that Midnight has never shown any aggression while looking for a meal here and he's a large cat. |
