| Post subject: | U.S. Marines Seize Pirate-Held Ship Off Somalia |
Formed at Tun Tavern in 1775 by act of the Continental Congress, the Marine Corps was originally formed to act as riflemen in the rigging of Navy ships, ship security, landing parties and boarding parties with cutlass and pistol upon enemy ships. I'll be damned if I know when they last boarded a hostile ship on the high seas.
