A first cousin of my wife was a dead ringer for Farrah Fawcett 30+ years ago. One time a group of us waltzed into Fleming's saloon on 30th Avenue in Astoria, Queens and a woman cried out, "That's FERRARRA!" Cousin Maureen said no but a lot of people thought she was. Mo and I had both graduated high school in 1965 from schools just one town over and she was the maid of honor at my wedding. Finally, Maureen said, "I'm opening my blouse to show everybody my falsies. I do not look like Farrah Fawcett from the neck down." And she did. Cousin Maureen is still still around at the age of 62 and a blast if you can get her to bartend at the downstairs saloon. |
