Yesterday the bride and I buy a cheap dresser for clothing storage in a kit. It weighs 93 pounds.

Years ago I could have hoisted that thing to my shoulder and run home with it. Yesterday I sprain my left thumb severely while feebly humping and hauling it out if a cart to ram it into the back seat of the car. It hurts like hell and the only bright side is that I'm right handed. Yup, the bus groper just went on the disabled list.

You start slowing down in your late 40s, really feel it in your 50s, but once you're by 60 it's all downhill. The wife won't want you on a pitched roof and going into a tree with a chainsaw is akin to playing Russian roulette. Carrying bags of groceries into the house from the driveway is like packing 75-pounds of gear for a long haul through the boondocks.

All I can do is laugh and keep plowing ahead. Nobody I know is getting any younger either.
