The old newly renovated garage had a single switch that turned on the inside lights and powered up some outlets plus two spots out front. The bride wanted coach lamps for the new deck on a separate switch for them and the spots and power available to the outlets at all times so she could run her new fridge during the day with the lights off. And she wanted additional outlets. OK, so we trek to Home Depot Sunday and I go again last night for hardware, wire, junction boxes, and all that other stuff. Tearing apart wiring from 1950 is a horror. Anyway I busted hump out there Monday and Tuesday and I finished up at noon today off the 6 a.m. start and everything works to her specs. Not only that but everything is to code and looks real squared away.

Tonight I'm going to ask for beer and pony money as a reward. At my age and with my mindset you don't ask for anything else unless you're out of smokes.

Tonight at dusk, take a photo of the new deck with coach lamps and all. You've done good work, I know the bride's pleased. You would've paid a small fortune for a general contractor to do all of this. Believe me, married to one for years, I know how much money you've saved.

As a homeowner I wish I was a better plumber. Those guys ram you hard just for showing up.
