If you have a regular type OTB account they take an additional 5-9% on all wagers, just because they are thieves.

Last night in a race at Aussie, the 3-1 ml favorite paid 91.00 to win and the exacta paid 101.00 with the 1/9 shot out of the w/p spots. Somebody put 10 grand to win on the 1/9, but the exacta pools paid pretty close to what the ml showed. Stuff happens!

And who could ever forget the $75.00 winner that kicked off the $74.80 daily double at Turf Paradise a few years back?

And we need some context. Was there a 1-5 fave in the win pool, who wasn't nearly as heavily favored in the exacta pool? If the 7-1 was 2nd or 3rd choice, you made out quite well.

Saturday's 12th exacta paid $221.40 with 7/1 over 24/1 in a 10-horse field with the $1.60/1 fave out of the picture. Two of the runners went off at 76/1 or better.

I'd have been happy with the results, dancing on the lawn in a furry thong, and watching out for the cops until somebody sober dragged me back into the house.

Payoff was legitimate.

FYI the OTB i was at pays track odds... I hit because i knew the owner of the second place horse so i used it because of my loyalty to a friend and i finally hit, i really thought it should have been more as did everyone else there. OH welll....
