Happily, everthing's going to be fixed with some forties of Colt .45 on the White House Lawn (brown paper bags optional).

In the interests of happiness and racial harmony I would suggest everybody get in the mood with the Heidelberg Quintet's 1912 rendition of Waiting for the Robert E. Lee (a big hit that year).

Safe site, MP3: http://turtleservices.com/Waiting%20for ... %20Lee.htm

WAITING FOR THE ROBERT E. LEE
(Music : Lewis F. Muir / Lyrics : L. Wolfe Gilbert)

Way down on the levy in old Alabamy
There's Daddy and Mammy
There's Ephraim and Sammy
On a moonlight night you can find them all
While they are waiting,
The banjos are syncopating
What's that they're saying?
What's that they're saying?
While they keep playing
A - humming and swaying
It's the good ship Robert E. Lee
that's come to carry the cotton away!
Watch them shuffling along,
See them shuffling along!
Go take your best gal, real pal
Go down to the levy, I said to the levy,
and join that shuffling throng
Hear that music and song!
It's simply great, mate, waiting on the levy
Waiting for the Robert E. Lee!
The whistles are blowing, the smokestacks are showing
the ropes they are throwing, excuse me I'm going
to the place where all is harmonious
even the preacher, he is the dancing teacher!
Have you been down there?
Were you around there?
If you ever go there you'll always be found there,
why, dog-gone, here comes my baby
on the good old Robert E. Lee!
Watch them shuffling along,
See them shuffling along
Go take your best gal, real pal
Go down to the levy, I said to the levy,
And join that shuffling throng
Hear that music and song!
It's simply great, mate, waiting on the levy
Waiting for the Robert E. Lee!

One does not always get one's way. I have served under Marine officers that I figured were a sure thing to get people killed needlessly. I have also served under Marine officers in the field that were sharper than anything you could imagine.

Same with working a 9 to 5 job. There are good people and there are folks that you wish weren't there.

I wish Obama weren't there, BUT, he's my president and I'm rooting like hell for him as a loyal American. Unfortunately, I'm not a Kool-Aid guzzler and I believe that his presidency is going to hurt badly this once-great nation.

You can't drink yourself off a bender (I tried it years ago) and you can't spend yourself out of a severe recession. I'm retired and still pay more in taxes than most of the young people in this country pay. The bride makes a fine buck but she's blasted in taxes for those with their hands out. We're getting "old". What's going to happen when the 'hands out' outnumber the 'hands working'?
