Post subject:  Momcat Finds The Sweet Spot
The wife's bed is a wreck after a nap or two today but Mister Mittens has still made it her business to snag a portion of her favorite comforter. A cat goes to where the cat wants to go and a cat will always have it's way with your stuff when it wants your stuff. You can't herd cats or explain anything to them. They just do as they please and tolerate your presence.

Touchy feely girl she is not.

When this formally feral street cat jumps onto my lap in the recliner I am allowed to rub her head and shoulders and under her chin and her throat. She sighs and purrs and and goes limp in my lap with eyes closed.

If I go to pet her down her back or anywhere near her back legs she wakes up and becomes upset. She only nips gently with her fangs and flashes some claws without striking but you understand that she does not want to be touched beyond her shoulders. That's old bad memory street stuff - her son and daughter go nuts with joy when you pet them all over.
