My wife, son and I have laid in many hundreds of dollars to feed, adopt and care for the momcat Mister Mittens. She has had the best vet care from anywhere and a team of three spayed her with two DVMs at the table (one an anesthesiologist) at the best animal hospital in Nassau County. Her surgeon had 35 years of practicing animal medecine and is a cat owner to boot.
Today I come upstairs with a beer and she's snoozing on the Castro. I pet her head and shoulders. She wakes up and goes out with a paw and claws while nipping my hand. Her fangs only grab my hand and do not puncture anything. Her claws do not strike - it's working.
The two-year-old street cat girl is becoming a house cat but her days in the street getting raped and ravaged as a youngster are still with her. She can look at you with those green eyes and you just know that she has been over some hurdles.
