It saddened me that after all my years here and painting the place many times over the bride finally got me to paint the outside of the side door. The side door was new when the house went up 1947 and it bothers me to cover up a working man's paint job that has been in good shape for 64 years. The hardware has been replaced and the mechanical doorbell is gone but I always felt good about keeping the original faded red paint job.

I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes
