The folks next door have been doing some improvements to the house and for the past two days there has been a lot of noise and power tools buzzing and a small truck or two to take debris away. This is well and good for the neighborhood but it makes the cats take notice as their "quiet territory" is not so quiet any more.

The weather has been stroking the 50s and I have opened some windows while saving a bunch on oil. Today I took this snap. Shiloh and her brother Trouble are nailed to a cat perch upstairs while very curious about the activity next door and some people out front. From what I have read I have learned that cats that stare hard while sitting on their tails are totally focused with what's out front with some thoughts about "defense" and keeping the back end protected. A happy calm cat sits on it's perch with it's tail dangling or on the floor with it's tail away from it's ass. You can see here that Sweet Babycakes has her shoulders hunched and she's on the "alert".

The "Bobsey twins" are a trip...remind me of the cats and curiosity ditty...

Cats are genetically unchanged from the cats domesticated by the Egyptians...DNA semms to be hardwired and unchanged over thousands of years...
