The momcat Mister Mittens is spayed and off the street and she sleeps in my lap sometimes while only flashing claws if I pet her too far down her flanks. She never strikes despite flashing fangs and claws if you pet her near her belly. She purrs and goes limp if you work her head, ears and the back of her neck and shoulders. I'm thinking she's still 30% feral despite her reproductive gear being in a landfill.

Tonight I catch her staring into my driveway and the fence next door. She ran the one and used to leap over the other as a feral street cat.



Come morning before dawn this girl will no doubt be breathing into my face from an inch away and snoodging me with a cold wet small nose while gently stroking my face with a soft pink-pad paw (claws in). Cats know how to play the humans they own. Humans can catch tons of love in the dark when a cat wants breakfast.
