Well no, not exactly - I wasn't at Belmont Park to see the losing fave but I was at home to catch
SWEET BABYCAKES for a photograph in my beloved recliner during the afternoon. This little sweet cat was unwanted for adoption or anything else. She had two brothers adopted (Samyn has one). She was the runt and had to go while her mother and tom brother could stay.
My tough city wife and the old Marine made the decision - the little girl cat had to go, three cats were too much to be taken on by the dog lovers.
And we see how that worked out. This little girl is the nicest creature you could ever want to meet. I know that she'd be in tough shape and probably be dead by now as a feral cat but as a spayed house cat she is a wonderful pet. Mom Nature gave her blistering speed (probably in an effort to make up for her small size) and no cat in my house can do stairs faster than she can. We gave her a shot to live a good life and she's doing her part.
When taken away to Dr. Wallach to be spayed she was not happy. When brought home to see her brother and mother again she screamed with happiness and raced all over the house in some kind of nutty joy. And we don't kick her or hit her with sticks and bats except for maybe three times a week.
Naaaaah!
