After the Aqueduct getaway race I laid out heaps of premium cat food for Emily and Ginger. They ate.
Ginger can hunt and scrounge and prowl the neighborhood while little Emily (yeah, she was the runt) has depended on food handouts and handout cat housing from me out back ever since her mother got done with the litter. Mom Nature no doubt had plans for this little girl cat to die off but Mom's human creatures at my house have different plans. There is no Medicaid or Obamacare at Dr. Wallach's animal hospital but there are two folks beyond the age of 60 here with some dollars that would like to see this sweet gentle cat catch a shot to live a long time with great food and some great warm beds (her choice at any time). Unlike Ginger, she is too dependent and small to live out on the street for long. And I wouldn't want to see her all beat up and pregnant in the spring if she survived the winter.
