I shoveled a path to the cat condos this morning and laid a new awning into the one on the left: And then Orange Boy showed up and I laid out a late breakfast for him while the well-fed Emily comes in for a snack: There's a lot of old snow laying around from January but compared to Boston, I've been dealing with flurries.

You have simpatico cat owners in MA. My B-I-L sent me this email:
"It's Kiki, the rescue cat! She's an American short hair 10 yrs. old, very sweet indoor cat. Owner had to give her up because of apartment restrictions. Now she's ours!"
Lucky Kitty!
Backstory from last year. My sis and b-i-law "adopted" a feral cat in MA.
Neither had pets in past..no dogs, cats, fish, etc. Felt bad for little gray cat. Would not come in house. Skitish
Cat started in a "feral villa" they bought. Then an electric heating pad for cold winter Then an automatic waterer w/heater for cold Then a cold-frame over feral villa so snow stay off villa. B-i-l out in winter shoveling snow so cat had free path to/from villa to house via patio. Then cat came inside to eat...then sleep...got a cat bed...litter..waterer, etc. Premium food too. Cat had choice of villa day and indoor at night.
Sis and B-i-law have 2nd house on Cape Cod. Kitty traveled there when they go to Cape...year round. Cat got a second feral villa for the Cape house so felt "at home" Another heating pad for winters on Cape and all accoutrements so Kitty was "comfortable" both places.
Both sis and b-i-l fell in "love" with cat. Became third family member. Paid for "cat sitters" when they occasionally traveled.
Cat was A-OK until one day...could not find cat...usually stayed out in day...in at night...live in very suburban area...woods few houses... found cat...dead trying to crawl out of her feral villa...think ate poison somewhere.
Both were inconsolable. Crushed. This from two people not "animal lovers" until they adopted Kitty 6 years ago. Sis still tears-up if mention Kitty.
