It's rare for a nursing momcat to get into another "reproductive cycle" according to Dr. Wallach but it does happen and Mister Mittens did it five years ago before she got spayed. She was antsy in the house and yowling to get outside when her four kittens were barely weaned. This evening near dusk the plowed and chased Emily was laid up in the old (soon to go) swing set out back while the tom Big Grey remained nearby. He wanted more action I suppose. Ginger had nursed the kittens all day and was laying about the deck. The tom Mr. Orange showed up after catching the "scent" I suppose but he didn't want to fight Big Grey. So what happened? The 29-day-old kitten Slash came creeping down the deck and right after this photo was snapped Slash took a leap and bit the orange tom in his ass. He was startled, didn't want to fight Big Grey and trotted down the driveway. Slash then hissed and began to wobble up the deck on tiny legs to confront Big Grey. Ginger stopped the kitten while the huge tom stared in disbelief. That little creature is probably a female as a calico cat I'm told but I wish I had her balls. That little cat was going to brawl a street tom 20 times its size to get him away from Mom.
