This enormous neutered tomcat might have been a horror in the street. He's bigger than any feral cat I have ever fed. When Dr. Wallach castrated Trouble as a kitten he told me that the cat was going to be huge, was designed by Mom Nature to be a stud cat and was perfectly colored to have a shot for good mating and hunting.
Almost seven years later? The cat drinks water and eats some meals after not eating for a day or two.
Maybe he's dead now as a street cat or all torn up and nasty as a street cat. Maybe the weather got him or a car. Or disease.
Maybe I screwed up Mom Nature's plan for the cat, and I understand that, but I also understand that human intervention has given this cat a chance to live a long life in a good "territory" with no shot to pass on any genes. Is that a good deal from humans taking in "pets"? I don't know.
