Post subject:  Friday Evening Outdoor Cat Action

I laid out lots of good food for the feral cats. Right behind me the tom Trouble got through the storm door to visit the ferals. An orange tom challenged Trouble (ears back, tail down low) and Trouble lit into him with a claw swat and a bite to his neck. The cat ran off.

The aftermath here is Trouble in the right foreground watching the orange tom gallop down the street. Just in front of Trouble is Ginger. She knows Trouble and is not in fear of the tom that's almost three times her size. On the left next to the car? That's Nasty Mom with an attitude. She won't eat when I'm outside and a few years ago Trouble chased her over a fence when she got nasty with younger cats at the feed dishes.

Meanwhile on the backside Catty Patty bolted off a feed dish when the cat dustup happened. That's Garfield on the left platter while the skittish Bristol has her eyes on Trouble down the driveway. At the "Great Dane" dish that's Bosco and Tuxedo enjoying a pile of tuna and sardines. The males Garfield, Bosco and Tuxedo saw Trouble get out the side door and "flashed" tails straight up in a sign of peace and non-aggression to the huge neutered tom. One male did not. Trouble's orbs might be in a landfill now but he's still a territorial male cat. And yes, he's inside tonight undamaged.
