Kitty Pity sounds like a lousy name but the kitten's mother is Catty Patty and I thought it was a pity that the kitten is not yet on solid food and trotting down the driveway to eat with the adult cats. The now-neutered and huge battle-scarred tom Sad Face backs off and makes room for small young cats to eat when I lay out platters of cat food. And yes, this morning when I laid out lots of food he just closed his eyes and tolerated me when I pet his head and rubbed his back. That male tom does not live here but he knows me as a good guy with food. I have never seen this cat be afraid or nasty or hissing or get his hackles up when I approach him. He just figures I like him a little bit and that I bring him a meal gently when he shows up. |

Sad Face is going to have a better, and hopefully longer life. |
