Every cat in this photo has been spayed or neutered. Every cat eats well out of my house.
On the left the orange tom Garfield (born here, doesn't live here, neutered) is scrunched up with his tail wrapped around him. Why? Well, the mean and recently spayed Nasty Mom is at a platter of premium cat food that he wanted but Nasty Mom is on it and he's thinking poorly with lots of other great food available.
Up top? That's Catty Patty. She's looking out to the deck for her kitten - the kitten is plump and healthy and ought to be down the driveway for solid food. Adult cats that eat well will never harm a kitten so I'm not sure how things will go. The small Catty Patty is still nursing her last kitten after being spayed but one day soon she's going to stop with some paw swats and bites. Mom Nature will stop her. Her instincts will make her quit nursing and not care much about the kitten after doing all she was required to do as a momcat.
