Every cat in this photo has been trapped and spayed/castrated at some expense to an old Marine and his teen bride catching Social Security. I was amazed to see (upper left) that Nasty Mom was sharing a platter of premium cat food with her small granddaughter Catty Patty. Just to their right is Ginger, a daughter of Nasty Mom and the mother of Catty Patty. Feral "cat coloring" is something to see from a litter of street cats. Catty Patty caught Granma's "looks".
Down in front is the orange Garfield and the black Tuxedo. The stainless steel "Great Dane" feed dish is loaded up with cans of tuna and sardines. Check out the top of the orange cat's left ear - it appears to be flat. Well, it's been clipped and taken away. Why?
When feral cats are TNRed (trap, neuter, return) by people that care the ear gets clipped to let people in the future know that the feral cat is sterile and loaded up with vaccinations. No, it's not joy, happiness and a long life for the feral cat but the cat won't be breeding kittens into a tough life either. I have disposed of a bunch of dead kittens these past several years. It's easier than picking up dead humans but it's still not pleasant.
