The last race at Saratoga was done and shortly thereafter the teen bride of just 44 years pulled into the driveway from some quick local shopping and errands. She called upstairs that I had a lot of "pussy kitties" waiting for me outside and I knew the deal that I do with love just like she does. I went outside with my OFFPC (Old Fart Flip Phone/Camera) to gather up the platters and huge stainless steel feed dish from breakfast. I brought out a load of kibble and fresh water.
The huge tom Sad Face was here for a meal and was down when I came out. He doesn't live here but I've been feeding him for some years and I got him trapped, neutered and returned to his neighborhood. He got held over to be loaded up with antibiotics and treated for wounds taken in street fights. The people that had him via cattrappers.org said that they had never seen a more gentle feral male. He was torn up from brawling for females and not by being with humans.
Outside tonight I rubbed his head, neck and shoulders. And his chin, back and ears. And then I stepped back to take a photo. It's plain to see in this snap that this huge feral street tom does not trust me, like me or want to be near me. Lordy, I love this street cat a little bit.
