The lower part of this "cat perch" has been torn to shreds with three cats working their ever-growing claws on it. They leave the furniture alone and that's a good deal to catch with three house cats that permit a couple of humans to live with them. "Up Top" and off the floor or off the ground is where most cats prefer to nap or sleep by instinct. Trouble is a sweet huge neutered tom and he's still the largest cat that lives in my neighborhood.

My sister researched scratching posts for their cat Kiki. She reports their cat "loves her sisel scratching post. "Sisal fabric, providing all of those characteristics, is a far superior scratching material to carpet or sisal rope, which catch cats' claws and pull on their toes. Cats love to scratch sisal fabric, making it the purrfect scratching post material." https://www.purrfectpost.com/ Maybe for the Cats' Christmas present! https://www.purrfectpost.com/the-purrfect-post-info/
