That expensive blue and white cat bed pictured here was meant for the house cats but they don't use it since they prefer to sleep in beds and on comforters that are laid out for them on furniture. The bride bought it and it was her idea to install it in the garage so that a feral cat or two could have a good bed all winter.
I had a makeshift "cat fort" made up from a microwave box downstairs with some cat pillows and I brought that out back to the garage as well for cats to lay up in. I installed it on the wicker deck chair on the left that's going to stay where it is until next spring.
We never figured to be adopting a small colony of feral cats from the neighborhood but once we began helping them out with food and had them all trapped and neutered, providing some shelter was the next step and I am happy that we can afford to do it and had the space in the garage.
And all the cat beds are being used.
