Mister Mittens was being drained dry and weak by her four kittens even when they were several weeks of age.

On the left the runt girl Shiloh is searching for a nipple as "tail-end Charlie" while her enormous brother Trouble is on top of her nursing at a real good spot. To his right are his brothers Mischief and Chaos who were adopted.

The momcat is plump now and owns me but as a new kitten mother off the street she was going scrawny and willing to give everything to keep her kittens alive.

We were worried about the runt girl Shiloh competing for a nipple on her small mother Mister Mittens with three huge brothers as siblings always kicking her away but her exhausted mother would take her aside for a private nursing after the boys were asleep with full bellies. Mister Mittens was a super mother cat.

Mother is a ballbreaker and bad news before dawn in bed when she bothers me to get up to serve her a breakfast but I love her a little bit.

On a cold night when she's up against me in bed I've been known to reach out in the dark to grab a lap blanket and flop it over her. She doesn't get mad.
