I was walking home from getting the paper this morning and she came out of nowhere to say hello. I reached down to pet her and figured this is no good for the middle of a street so I told her to follow me to the house. She did. I told my son that his buddy was here so he popped open a can of Bumblebee for her.

This afternoon she stopped by to see me at the farm out back and stayed a while. I call her Cat. She dug a hole in my garden, peed in it and then covered it up. She then ran over to me for approval and I gave her a good head rub.

Cat simply has a sweet disposition, BL. Ever since 1/8 Pole brought her inside last year for some warmth and a good feed she likes and trusts us. He's the guy she looks for. I'm just an acquaintance.

May 31st:

I went out for the newspaper early this morning out the front door and came in the side door. I saw a bowl of milk and figured that my son had left it out last night for Kitty (I'm not allowed to call her Cat anymore).

My wife just told me she had placed it outside for Kitty in the middle of the night.

Look for me shortly to snag the gaddamn thing, get it spayed, and make it a house cat.

Tough job, though, I've been a dog guy for 60+ years and nobody could ever understand how I had Susan for 19 years+ with not one trip to the vet or how I kept an enormous rottweiler for 15+ years.

Frog got into my house when I was 13. That dog (a beagle/horror mix) adored my father and used to run off with a purpose. On a Saturday when Pop was home from work Frog would sometimes break off the leash and be gone. The goddamn dog never came home without a dead cat in his jaws for the old man. The dog would lay the dead cat down in the driveway and go nuts with the tail wagging when Pop came out of the house.

I have photos of Frog. That was the only dog I ever knew that would snarl, growl, and show his teeth when you went to pet him. And this was people he loved.

Damn, just a few minutes ago I went to the downstairs saloon to take a leak and bring up a few more beers.

Kitty was looking at me through a window as I unzipped.

Damn, I stopped everything and brought some food to her outside. Kitty's Mom is with her.

I'm unzipped with half a load on pissing myself but the cats are eating.
