My flag pole line wore out last summer and I needed to get up the pole to thread a new one. It rained overnight so I couldn't patch the deck so I took on this project. The bride spotted the extension ladder for me and as I hauled my old bones skyward she asked me to not make this weekend "my" Memorial Day. I'm not spooked by heights and I got up there and everything turned out well. Going up this flag pole was easier 40 years ago when I was 30.
