It's an old fluorescent fixture with "ballast startup"and when I dropped the translucent cover Wednesday morning it really had to go. Years ago a man would go to the hardware store for parts. Worse case not long ago you'd go to Home Depot or Lowe's for a new fixture.

Today? The "Prime Girl" wife gets on her PC and scopes out light fixtures with Amazon. When she sees the one she likes she buys it and with free delivery it'll be here in two days. I will happily install the fixture since I would no doubt be thrown out of the house if I didn't.

Finally got the new one up on Monday the 13th. Had to improvise since the old bracket in the ceiling was corroded with long screws and nuts that were rusted and had to be eliminated. Hey the bride is happy and that's all that matters. She won't be throwing me out for the foreseeable future.

If you can make a girl happy, even temporarily, she is less apt to throw you out.
