I was late with serving dinner due to the twilight racing at Belmont Park but a good crew was here to eat. That robust cat and healthy-looking creature lower right is Nasty Mom. She is a beautiful cat. Up top looking a lot like her is her small granddaughter Catty Patty.

The house tom Trouble bulled his way by the screen door to get outside and hunkered down to watch the outside cats eat but the tip of his tail was quivering and I got him back into the house in a hurry. The outside cats do not fear him since he has never gotten mad at any of them on the rare occasions that he gets out but a flat tail with just the tip moving (as seen here) is not a good sign.

If you can read a cat's tail you're reading its mind. But flattened ears are something you never want to see.
