I finally went through the enormous package of photographs that were left to me after my mother's death in 1999. Some of the pix had me in them as a little boy but this one caught my eye from the early 1920s.

Aunt Flo was dressed to meet the Atlantic Fleet at the Brooklyn Navy Yard.

Aunt Flo was born in 1916 (my Dad's kid sister) and sent two great first cousins of mine into Korea aboard ship in the Navy.

The photo is of Great-Aunt Flo who made some some Army and Marine and Navy veterans of the Spanish American War lose their careers while seeking medical help for their rashes and genital discomfort.

I stand corrected.
