I was putting some shopping bags into the bride's car when Kitty came out of some bushes next door to pay a visit. I had noticed that we have a stack of cat food in the house now (odd since we own no cats) so I figured I could get rid of some with the stray cat. My granddaughter Miss Peaches came outside to make sure that Kitty was comfortable and to check if the menu was to the cat's satisfaction.

I have seen Bob Barker on TV since when I was young and had teeth, hair and money.

On a serious note the guy rates a "thumbs up". Mr. Barker was a Navial Aviator at the end of WWII and was practicing carrier takeoffs and landings in a Grumman Hellcat fighter in the Gulf when the war ended.

Guys that could fly always made me look up. WWII pilots that I always admired in baseball were Ted Williams, Jerry Coleman and Ralph Kiner.

Coleman was a decent 2nd basemen for the Yanks but he flew the F4-U Corsair for the Marines in both WWII and Korea. And he's still alive.

Jerry always said, "Taking off from a carrier is easy. Landing on one is like pissing on a postage stamp after 10 drinks from 10 feet away."

God bless those guys.
