All I grew this year was Beefsteaks and they are magnificent.

And the zucchini is insane. The eggplants have just begun produce fruit so there should be plenty for August and September.

I have several on my window sill in the kitchen. Turning nicely. I didn't grow 'em, I went to the local farmer's market Saturday a.m. ;)

The tomato plants are nearing 6-feet tall and have outgrown their cages. I've been lashing them to the fence. One monster even toppled over the weekend. I use no chemicals, no fertilizer, no nothing. Just dirt, water and sun and I plant marigolds nearby as they produce a pungent natural bug repellant.

The tomato plants have merged into one gigantic mass of goodness.

I only had problems with squirrels eating corn years ago. They don't eat the stuff I plant now.

Why do you tease us with the Devil Dogs in the picture?

Next time I'll show a box of Yankee Doodles.

Dirt is good but I got another $1.99 box of Devil Dogs on a super sale.

I had to hit some kids on my way out of the supermarket in order to protect my purchase.
