Sweet Little Shiloh curled up into her mother's cat bed and began mewing into her mother's ear. Shiloh's at the bottom of the photo. The Momcat, Mister Mittens, was sound asleep.

Mom woke up and offered her completely dry nipples to her daughter and even tucked Shiloh's head into her shaved and spayed gut with a gentle paw.

Meanwhile, the tomcat Trouble was busting some ZZZs on the couch in the den.

A family of cats are an amazing thing to see.

Paul, I'm an old dog guy.

The cats are amazing.

Mister Mittens and Shiloh look like twins!

No doubt, they are mom and kitten. The question for Trouble is "whose YOUR daddy?

Wooley, the huge tomcat is a beast and he brawls with his his little sister Shiloh in play fights but he loves her dearly.

They nap together like glue on adhesive most days.

In mid-February the tomcat Trouble's BBs are going away.

At that point in time I will have two spayed female felines and a cat with a useless pecker.

But I'm going to have three happy and healthy house cats that would have had no chance at life if Mister Mittens was left to the street.

While stumbling over ice and stepping over snow piles earlier today on a beer run I saw Mister Mittens' mother gallop down a neighbor's driveway and scoot off to wherever feral cats go.

The neighbor is my friend Lou and he's 10 years older than me and lives two houses away. A couple of weeks ago when I brought Shiloh home from being spayed. Lou was outside his home and asked me what I had in the 'animal carrier'. I explained that I had a young female cat that had just been spayed and that I had her mother and brother as well. He told me that he's been feeding a large grey cat with one white leg and beautiful stripes across the rest of it's body. That cat is Mister Mittens' mother.

That cat is truly wild and spent a large part of the past summer in my driveway while her daughter Mister Mittens stared at her out a window. Every time I went outside to feed Granma she hauled ass. She wanted nothing to do with humans.

I can't save every cat on the planet but I'm thrilled that I snagged two from a young female's pregnancy and got two adopted.

On a side note, when I moved into my house almost 33 years ago Lou had a teenaged daughter in high school that was absolutely gorgeous and she was built superbly. Today, she is almost 50 and still built like she could be 18.

All I can do is go inside my home and cry into the cat food.

Wife drives home from a high pressure job today in Manhattan.

She catches the cats.

Sweet little Shiloh is her precious little girl and they go nuts together with love on the sofa.

The momcat, Mister Mittens, gets hugged and loved by my wife but the momcat is not a lover and backs off after the first greeting but she lays some licks upon my wife's hand.

The huge tomcat Trouble bulls his way onto my wife's lap, lays out on his side, closes his eyes, and makes strange happy cat noises while my wife runs her hand down his flank from head to hip.

I think the cats love my wife.
