It's not exactly the way I remember cat action as a young man but I caught these photos this evening: Little Shiloh is laid up to catch some nap time upon my wife's bed but she caught some noise and action just outside in the hallway. It was the momcat Mister Mittens doing a playfight with her son Trouble. Cats will brawl each other while lying down in playfights with kicks and quick bites and lunges. It's something to see. The tomcat has a huge advantage with size and reach over his mother but she's "street" and game as they come. Oh, the momcat ain't that fat. She's just eating well and is happy to do it.

Trouble would be tearing at his mother's belly with those back claws if this was for real but the claws never come out during a playfight. Every day these cats pounce and fight each other for play. My son has been trimming their claws lately to keep them from scratching up the place and I am still amazed that when a cat brings out it's claws the paw expands to twice it's normal size. They are some scary weapons.

1/8 pole is a brave man. Trimming a cat's claws is a dangerous assignment
