Mister Mittens and her daughter Shiloh couldn't groom each other from adjoining cat beds so they scrunched up into one and worked it out.



Mom's moving to clean some ears for her daughter.

This is Mister Mittens out in the garage last July to single out her runt Shiloh for a private feeding. Little Shiloh (aka Sweet Babycakes) could never grab a good nipple with her three larger siblings feeding but she didn't want to die either. Oftentimes her mother would nurse and then jump out of the cat bed to offer her tiny daughter every nipple her belly had but Mom knew that she could not make a small weak kitten into something that nature didn't want to thrive. Mom offered her milk to the runt but didn't go nuts to make her feed.

In that photo just above Mister Mittens has her head laid down on the edge of a cat bed in which her three male kittens are sleeping but she's going to nurse her female runt.

And the runt is adored at my house.

That sweet little runt still tries for a nipple sometimes. Mom either lets her suckle or kicks her in the face with a back leg.

Sweet Babycakes has filled out some but she's still petite from head to tail.
