A few weeks ago a chair cushion wound up on the floor in the kitchen underneath a chair. The momcat Mister Mittens liked where it was and fell in love with it. She cried out with joy and collapsed upon it for a nap. This is strange for cats as they usually want to be off the ground or floor or anypace down low while sleeping. Instictively they want to have some "high ground" for defense and flight if snagged by a predator while sleeping. Jeez, even a housecat wants to be upon a bed or sofa most of the time while crashed so that it can can fight or flee from high up.
Not so the momcat Mister Mittens tonight - she's got beds and sofas and high places to lay out tonight but she just adores that cushion upon the kitchen floor. Her daughter Shiloh caught some elevation while sticking near her mother. We have no idea why Mom loves that cushion where it is but we leave it there for her.
Meantime the large tomcat is rolled up in a cat bed as a solo. Jeez, he's a wonderful gentle large mummy. If you pet him he drops to the floor and cries out for rubs and gropes and head & ear fondling.
